it's such a chore

I always thank HIM for saving me amongst the lost & hopeless...

i sometimes thank GOD for the days not giving me what i asked for ,

I 'm occassionally thankful to GOD for making me a woman (or at least i 'm created to be one)

Especially on those days when there's a super duper heavy downpouring drumming hard & noisily on the concrete pavements and the metal roofing sheets... thank GOD for those days where i can rightfully put on a short skirt - instead of long pants...

There are always 2 sides of a coin... on the other hand, being a woman means you are expected to
- look better (i.e. more dressed up)

- seemed like more groomed

- smell better

than a man... or at least that was held since a kid... and i still held on to those notion...

only a counselling session by a sophisticated female colleague had i knew there was more than meets the eye to be a really accomplished woman, - u know, a woman who can behave in a lady like manner... In fact, i have no foreseeable projection when this day would ever come by on me

just in making up your face (that is not even greater surface area than a clock face) alone would take so much memory space, skill and expertise to master... (i wish i could throw up my hands in surrender but.. life's a journey. many times a marathon run, sometimes occassionally a slow paced jog... and when i'm really down, it's a slow, comforting, stroll... i will , i must and i can, in the Will of the One whom i had and has believed.

Just a little note about what i m currently feeling now. I know, i'm a very blessed individual. I work in a place with lots of freedom with regards to my work, an acceptable payslip. I get to do things my method- as long as they are not in contradiction to my MD, or our written procedures - manual & documented, ok.

(Even if i do really execute things in a way way off from the stated policy, it would still be viable if i removed them right before external audit comes in. That's policy & integrated mgmt system in a not so small yet not big company - welcome to the alibaba world of local firms. )

everyday i get to check my own email right after checking my company's email. do labels for outdated files... write email to friends to say hi. sms on about non company matters. read online stuff to search for things related or not to my company business. who else can be so free n easy.

but do you ever realise. man does not live for bread alone. (for i do have the bread now..) each individual, has a spirit, which longs to do something. that, something that the non-humans do not fathom and could never.

many a times, amid so many influences by our surrounding bad working culture and fellow habits of coworkers, we had become accustomed to poor quality work, giving low output to the firms which hired us and taking whatever salary we were paid for.

there was once a baby eagle whom had fallen off the nest of the eaglets.

The mother hen took him home.

So baby eaglet grow amongst the chicks. He ate like a chick, slept like a chick, and grew up almost a chicken. He had never tried f ly.. though deep in him, he thought he would like to do so very much...

Once the farmer took them all out, waiting to send them to slaughter house. The eaglet looked up and saw several other flying eaglets learning to fly. "How i wish i could be like them too".

He took a longer look, BUT i 'm exactly like them!

Then he heard the mother eagle spoke" fly my child, flap your wings hard and embrace the skies with your wings". And they did, they soar into the clear blue world.

The eagle stood amongst the chickens, he listened carefully and he flapped his wings really hard. He didn't fly. The other chickens laughed at him - for they thought he was mad. He tried again and again, and he failed many times. But for once, just before he was pushed into the house, he succeeded.. and at last he flew off and away from the skeptical brood...

Somewhat somehow we were like the little eaglet. We had the potential to give and soar. but we did not know it - while we were with the chickens.

In order to fly you need to know who you are. Look who you are. You are not just here by mistake, you are a creation of GOD. The clever wise and all-mighty creator who never sleeps nor slumbers.

Listen to the word of GOD. Life is a race, then GOD's word are the rules and regulations of the race. If life is a game, then GOD's word guides how to win the game.

Try, give it your best, you only have one and only chance at life. that is, this time, now.

Like the little eagle.. we have no second chances. How does men know what comes after today? How dare we boast of tomorrow.. which we may know that it may not realise...

Does Your Company Love Misery?
Patrick Lencioni teaches you how you can take charge of the situation and turn your office into a happy place

HERE’s a thought: Did you know that many professional athletes and entertainers are most likely to be miserable in their jobs? According to author and motivational speaker Patrick Lencioni, celebrities can still get depressed despite their money and the adulation they get from fans and media. Why? Because they could be feeling anonymous and irrelevant.

In his latest book, The Three Signs of a Miserable Job, Lencioni identifies three things that cause job misery in the office:

Anonymity. “The feeling that employees get when they realise that their manager has little interest in them as human beings and that they know little about their lives, their aspirations and their interests.”

Irrelevance. “Takes roots when employees cannot see how their job makes a difference in the lives of others. Every employee needs to know that the work they do impacts someone’s life — a customer, a co-worker, even a supervisor — in one way or another.”

Immeasurement. “The inability of employees to assess for themselves their contribution or success. Employees who have no means of measuring how well they are doing on a given day or in a given week, must rely on the subjective opinions of others, usually their managers’, to gauge their progress or contribution.”

According to Lencioni, the primary source of job misery and the potential cure for it resides in the hands of one individual: the direct manager. But he does give tips to employees who may want to take matters into their own hands.

Here’s three ways to make your office a better place to work in:

Look for the sign. Does your manager even want to make a difference? Assess whether [your] manager is interested in and capable of addressing the three things that are required. If the answer is no, it may be time to look for a new job.

Help your manager. The second thing miserable employees need to do is help their managers understand what it is they need. If they have a strong relationship with their manager, they can come right out and say it (“You know, it would mean a lot to me if you knew more about who I am and what makes me tick.” Or, “Can you sit down and help me understand why this work I’m doing makes a difference to someone.”

Turn the tables. Finally, employees would do well for themselves if they turned the tables and started doing for their managers what they want for themselves. For instance, employees who take a greater interest in the life of their managers are bound to infect them with the same kind of human interest. Similarly, employees who take the time to tell their managers (in a non suck-up kind of way) about the impact they have on their job satisfaction, will likely inspire them to respond in kind.

So start making a difference.
